RPI to open new solar energy research center

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., is opening a new alternative energy research center tomorrow.
The school has scheduled a ceremony that will feature RPI President Shirley Ann Jackson, Congressman Michael McNulty and Thomas Baruch.
Baruch, a member of the Rensselaer board of trustees and an alumnus, also is expected to make a major donation to the center.
